Meeting Revile after an interview

This year has taught me so much. Though learning how to navigate classes, finding friends, finding hobbies and extracurriculars, and just being on my own for the first time. I have gained so much experience. College in and of itself teaches you so much but all that you learn in your first year is life changing.

I have branched out joining so many clubs and through that I have found friends, community, resources, and service. With physical therapy society I got to expand my knowledge so much on physical therapy schools and types of physical therapy. With FLAKE I was given opportunities to flourish and show my leadership skills by not only planning my own service project but also by being given a voice in the club I was in. I also had the opportunity to rise in rank and become a councilor so that I can continue the traditions of  FLAKE and help freshmen like myself. I did things that I never thought I would do again by doing a talent show to showcase my baton twirling. In addition I put myself out there and did difficult things by learning the group dance and spending my precious time being around other leaders and honing my new skills. I got to build a community with WHOOP and have so much fun with a group of girls who are like minded and service focused. I tried out for leadership in this organization and did not make it but I am continuing to look for ways to be a leader.

Within all of this I got to be a part of several service projects through the organizations I was a part of. Like every club that I am in has a road that we clean. While the days spent doing that can feel long and grueling it is so worth it and the feeling of satisfaction afterwards is unbeatable. Not to mention doing Big Event and having a direct connection to the surrounding community and it was so much fun. There have been so many other opportunities that I was given to give back to the community and they are not only a nice way to get a break from school and a chance to gather with other students but make a connection with our community.

I thought the school aspect of college would be the end of me but it has reignited my passion for school. I made it through some hard classes with a 4.0. Which I did not believe I could do. I got into the honors program which will help me get ahead in preparing for graduate school and in the job market one day. I was able to leave Blinn TEAMS and become a full time TAMU student. I applied to become a resident advisor which I did not get, but I know it is all ok because I am going to try again this coming year. This also has me excited to look for a job when I return to campus in the fall.

Many people ask how freshman year was and honestly it is incredibly difficult to sum up because your life moves so fast and you learn so much all at once. It is a rush but the knowledge I have gained is irreplaceable and will carry me through all the hard times up ahead. Freshman year has prepared me for so much of my future. Like living on my own, constantly learning, and being in service to others. This Year gave me so much to look forward to in the rest of my undergraduate career and in the rest of my life.
